Bio
Sam Bellinger is the son of Sam and Melanie Bellinger. Sam was a member of the Hornets from 2004 to 2007, was a part of the Hornet program since fourth grade.
In his free time, Sam enjoys hunting, bowling, listening to music, and riding his four-wheeler.
Coaches Comments
The 2007 season for Sam was as frustrating as losing the last two games of the season was for the coaching staff. Sam dedicated his summer to working out, lifting, pushing cars, and preparing for the 2007 season. Unfortunately, during 7-on-7 scrimmages at Lycoming team camp, Sam suffered a knee injury that set him out of the first 5 games of the season. It was at our first home game versus South Williamsport when I knew exactly how hard it was for Sam to not be on the field playing. During warm-ups Sam stood next to the goalpost with tears in his eyes. As a coach, it was sad to see a player not be able to play due to injury. As a player, it is the most valuable lesson you can learn and that is you should play every play to the best of your ability because you never know which one is going to be your last. For Sam, it was motivation. For that reason, I believe Sam will experience tremendous success in life. His hard work, dedication, and willingness to overcome adversity was obvious. Good luck!
