Bio

Will Cornell is the son of Ed and Toni Cornell. Will was a member of the Hornets from 2004 to 2007, and was active in the program since fourth grade. Along with football, Will was also a thrower on the track team, and has also played baseball through junior league.

In his free time, Will enjoys playing golf, riding his dirt bike, hunting, attending Penn State football games, and camping with friends. Will is currently attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania

Coaches Comments

Will Cornell is a perfect example of a team player. Early in Will's football career Will believed and was determined to be a quarterback. As time progressed, Will became larger than his classmates but still had the ability to move very well. During Will's junior season with the program, Will showed very positive signs of becoming a fine football player. Entering the 2007 season, the coaching staff was impressed with his overall ability and improvement he had made from the previous season. In 2007, Will was used sparingly on defense but still recorded 19 solo tackles, 1 fumble recovery, and 2 sacks. There is no doubt Will's attitude was contagious and as a coach I could not have asked for anything more from Will. Whenever we needed something from Will, we could count on it getting done. As a coach it was an honor and a pleasure coaching Will throughout his four years at Wellsboro. Will's attitude on and off the field was great and as a football player he improved greatly throughout his four years. At times throughout the season the coaching staff would try to figure out ways to make him mad in order to take his frustration out on the opponent but it just never happened. Will will be missed greatly in the future and his willingness to do whatever helped the team and his commitment to getting better is second to none. I wish Will the best of luck in the future and know that if he continues in life with the attitude he has had in football, he will have success no matter what he decides to do.
