Chris Morral - Head Coach

Quite often when I think about the seniors on this football team, I think about the quality of individuals that helped make this season such a success.

I look back to the beginning of off-season workouts and look at the work ethic, determination, and attitudes that each of these fine young men brought to the game. Not all of these seniors are gifted athletes. But all of these seniors bring something to the game that can't be coached, and that is heart!

Playing the game of football with a big heart is not coachable. These athletes left everything on the field day in and day out. To most of them, being part of a team and pushing one another to be the best was more important to them than choosing to pursue other opportunities.

Without question, these seniors will be forever remembered as a group of young men with integrity and class. These young men will be forever remembered as the group of seniors who set the standards for excellence.

I feel as though excellence and success go hand-in-hand. Excellence is based on years of success, and success can be reached by demanding excellence. I hope these young men can take with them the abilities and work ethic they have displayed over their careers. Playing football is a lot like the game of life, "You get out of it what you put into it."

I wish these young men the best of luck in all future endeavors, and wish them the best of luck in the most important game of all, LIFE!

Senior Football Players

Chris Buck - OL/DL

Chris Buck

Chris contributed to our special teams throughout the season and took great pride in doing so. Chris is an exceptionally hard worker and spent numerous hours in the weight room during our off-season workouts. For that reason, Chris has become a role model for youth players and has proven that with hard work, anything can be accomplished. Good luck Chris in all that you do, and if athletes in the future have half the work ethic as you do, our football program will be successful in upcoming years. Good luck!

Jeremy Cobb - OL/DL

Jeremy Cobb

Jeremy is an excellent example of what I call a "team player." Jeremy always did what was best for the "team" and was always attentive and well prepared for each game. Jeremy had an important role in our goal line defense, and was a key to stopping Towanda's Billy Oliver during our homecoming thriller. Jeremy is the type of athlete who plays better mad, and getting him mad is easy to do. Jeremy, I wish you the best of luck in the future and hope that the work ethic and dedication you have learned from football will help you succeed. Within the program, we need more "team players" such as yourself that are willing to do whatever it takes to make the "team" better. Good luck!

Chuck Compton - OL/DL

Chuck Compton

Chuck proves that size does not matter. In the beginning of summer camp, I did not know where Chuck was going to fit into the lineup. I quickly found out when our starting guard, Willie Blackwell, was injured. Chuck was able to step up his game and fill in where Willie left off. As the season progressed, Chuck became better and better. By the end of the season, Chuck was a valuable player on the offensive line and proved that he was not afraid to overcome all obstacles. Chuck, in life you will have obstacles. I hope you have learned throughout this season that all obstacles can be overcome. Keep up the good work and remember, when things seem impossible, you are only a single step away from making them possible. Good luck!

John Johnston - OL/DL

John Johnston

John broke into the starting lineup for the Hornets when he was a freshman and never looked back. When I think of linemen with versatility and speed, I think of John Johnston. John is considered by coaches within the area as the best linemen in the NTL on both sides of the ball, and was selected as a pre-season player to watch within District IV. Offensively, John proved he was a team player when he moved from Center to Tackle early in the season. John proved to be among the best with a standout performance against big teams and even bigger linemen. Defensively, John is second to none. john proved to be a major threat to offenses, and made things very difficult for opponents. John, I wish you the best of luck in the future. With the dedication and commitment as a teammate you have shown on this football team, I am certain you will succeed. Good luck!

Brandon Keck - FB/LB

Brandon Keck

With hard work and a commitment to excellence, anything is possible. Brandon has proven that all obstacles can be overcome. Brandon walked away from last season and made a clear and distinct commitment to the game that is impossible to match. I could not keep Brandon out of the weight room in the off-season, and those results are clear. Brandon became one of the area's best running backs, and racked up over 1,000 all-purpose yards on the year. Brandon is what I would call a true "role model" for young athletes and have proven himself to be a prospective college football player. One college coach recently stated, "Brandon seems to have great speed with average moves, but refuses to use them. It seems as though he would rather run the opponent over than go around him." That is clearly what Brandon believes. Brandon, you have distinguished yourself as a great football player and an even better role model for young athletes. Your work ethic and attitude is second to none. I wish you the bes of luck in the future, and hope that the work ethic and commitment you have shown towards football will carry on with you in all that you do. Good luck!

Chase Kriner - TE/DL

Chase Kriner

Chase's attitude and determination this season proved to be a valuable asset for this football team. Chase thrived on making "big plays" and always seemed to come through. Chase proved to be one of the best tight ends in the NTL and helped anchor a very solid defensive line. In my mind, Chase brings an attitude to the game that is not teachable. Chase played every down to the best of his ability and proved that he is among the area's best football players with big games against quality opponents. As I look back on this season, I can never remember a time when Chase did not want the ball. Chase, I hope this attitude and determination you bring to the game of football will carry on with you into the game of life. Your attitude is great, and you have served as a great role model for young athletes within our program. Keep up the good work!

Travis Morton - RB/DB

Travis Morton

Throughout the season, Travis developed into an accomplished special teams player. Travis took some very hard hits, and rebounded from them very quickly and without hesitation. Travis also played an important role within our offense, giving us depth at the running back position. Travis has a great attitude and is always willing to learn and get better. Travis, you have done an exceptional job for us this season, and I wish you the best of luck in future endeavors. You proved that size does not matter and whenever you took a hit, you got right back up. Keep up the good work!

Brad Oberdorf - OL/LB

Brad Oberdorf

Brad is the result of hard work and dedication to a sport he takes pride in. Brad found himself starting by the beginning of the first game against Troy, and has never looked back. Brad started at Center for us this season, and has done an excellent job stepping up and being an impact player. Brad has also displayed characteristics of a great leader on and off the field. Brad played with his heart in his throat all season long, and made every play count as if it were his last. Football and the work ethic the game requires has had a huge impact on Brad, and I hope he will be able to walk away from his football career realizing the impact he had on this season. Brad, you work ethic is second to none. Keep your goals within focus and let no obstacles get in your path. Good job!

Will Osgood - QB/DB

Will Osgood

Will was selected as a pre-season player to watch within District IV. With the pressures of being the quarterback, Will has delivered in many ways. Throughout his career, Will passed for more than 2,500 yards and rushed for over 1,500 yards. Will has been our "go to guy" in crucial situations and has seemed to always deliver. Throughout the season, Will has proven he is among the best in the NTL with over 1,000 passing yards and nearly 400 rushing yards. Besides being remembered as a quarterback, Will can always be counted on to make the right decisions. Will has been a true team leader for us, and has had a huge impact on young athletes within our program. Will, I wish you the best in all that you do, and hope that you will have as much of an impact on the people around you as you have had on athletes in our program. Good luck!

Tyler Smith - OL/DL

Tyler Smith

Tyler is a great example of why players should start earlier to be able to develop into football players. This was Tyler's first year playing football and he did a great job. Tyler dedicated countless hours in the off-season and was always the first guy on the practice field and the last guy off. Tyler's dedication and work ethic was second to none, and his commitment to becoming better was noticed from the first day of camp. Tyler, I wish we could have you for a few more years because you have shown signs of greatness within the course of this football season. I hope that you can take the work ethic and determination you have shown with you into the real world. Good luck!

Ed Weaver - OL/DL

Ed Weaver

Ed has had what coaches call a "breakout" year. Ed has improved weekly since the beginning of summer camp, and that has helped him to earn the respect of many coaches around the area. Ed faced many obstacles throughout the season but always seemed to perform when it came time for a big game. Ed proved to be a valuable asset to the team when he was forced to play both offense and defense from the beginning of the season. Ed, you were able to overcome playing in pain and various other obstacles throughout the season. I hope you will carry this with you as you move into the real world. You became a good football player through hard work and determination. Keep up the good work!

Senior Manager(s)

Sarah Young

Sarah Young - 2003 Senior Manager

Sarah has been an incredible asset to this team. Without a doubt, she has made this football season go much smoother for me and for all of the players. Without Sarah, I would have honestly not known what to do. Besides doing all that she has done, Sarah has set the standard for all managers and has gone above and beyond her duties. Everyday, every game, every practice, Sarah was there. During film sessions, bus trips, Thursday dinners, Sarah was there. Thank you Sarah for all that you have done for this football team. Words could not describe how much I owe your and appreciate what you have done. Good luck in all that you do and you are always welcome back. Thank You!
