The most difficult part of football is there is always adversity. Quite often when I think about the seniors on this team, I think about the young men that were able to overcome adversity and refuse to settle for anything less than the best.

I look back to the beginning of the off-season workouts and look at the willingness to learn and the motivation to become a better football player by each senior athlete. I look back to summer camp when the coaching staff demanded each athlete to challenge themselves and strive for more. It was during that time that I realized that each of these seniors had a mental edge like no other group I have seen. For these seniors, their individual fear of failure was their biggest motivation, and it was clear that each of these young men were determined to give it everything they had on a daily basis.

Without a doubt, these seniors will be forever remembered as a group of young men with integrity and class. These young men will be forever remembered as the group of seniors who set the standard for being role models by building positive relationships with others.

Individually, I want each athlete to remember one thing. "You're always working to play a perfect game, but you're never going to achieve it and play that perfect game. Out on the field, you never know which play is going to be that one that can change the complexion of the game. You've just got to play every play to the best of your ability. You should look back, even though you didn't win every game and everything didn't go your way, still having no regrets about how you performed and how hard you worked at it."

I wish these young men the best of luck in all future endeavors and wish them the best of luck in the most important game of all, LIFE!

And remember, you will not always play that perfect game, but play every play to the best of your ability and you will have no regrets.
