Wellsboro Hornets

Coach MorralThis senior class was a very special group of young men in a variety of ways. Besides being excellent role models on and off the field, many of these athletes accomplished something that will remain very special to each of them individually, and that is remaining together as a group throughout their football careers.

I can remember my first year as a head coach and these guys were freshman in the program. Many of them were much smaller in size, but one thing that they didn't lack was heart. I can remember practices when these athletes would jump in varsity drills and not think twice about trying to take a position away from a starter.

Playing the game of football with a big heart is not coachable. These athletes left everything on the field day in and day out. To most of them, being part of a team and pushing one another to be the best was more important to them than choosing to pursue other opportunities.

In life, there will be days when winning seems impossible and losing seems inevitable. During those times, I encourage you to keep pushing forward and never give up. It is always during those times of adversity when great things can happen.

Individually, each of you will be faced with times of adversity. I want each athlete to remember one thing. "You're always working to play a perfect game, but you're never going to achieve it and play that perfect game. Out on the field, you never know which play is going to be that one that can change the complexion of the game. You've just got to play every play to the best of your ability. You should look back and have no regrets about how you performed and how hard you worked at it."

I wish these young men the best of luck in all future endeavors, and wish them the best of luck in the most important game of all, LIFE!

And remember, you will not always play that perfect game, but play every play to the best of your ability and you will have no regrets.
