It is time to start planning and preparing for the upcoming football season. A major component of our preparation is our trip to the Warrior Team Football Camp held at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa. The coaching staff considers this week of intense preparation, team bonding, and fun away from the distractions of home as important as anything we do in preparaition for a successful 2008 campaign. Each athlete in grades 9-12 planning to play football should attend this camp! If you have not had a physical, you will need a physical prior to attending this camp.

Camp Specifics:

The football team will depart from the Middle School at 10:00 a.m. sharp on Monday, July 28. All athletes should report to the Middle School with a parent or guardian at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of completing paperwork necessary for camp, and to be fit for a helmet for the season. This is very important! A parent or guardian must accompany you to complete the contact information as well as liability paperwork. Any parents available to help carpool to Lycoming College would be greatly appreciated. For directions to Lycoming College, use the Interactive Map and select "Wellsboro" in the "From" dropdown menu and Lycoming College" in the "To" dropdown menu and click "Get Directions."

The cost for each athlete is $100.00. Please bring a check with you made payable to the "Wellsboro Gridders Club." The Gridders Club will pay the difference for each athlete. Any athlete who attends camp and them quits the team at anytime throughout the season will be required to refund the Gridders Club $85.00.

The Gridders Club doesn't want any player to miss camp due to financial hardship. If you have financial problems, please see Coach Morral.

What to Bring for Camp:

Campers should bring a sleeping bag or bed linens for a twin bed, a pillow, toiletries, and towels. Campers will also need additional snacks and beverages, football cleats, shorts, t-shirts, sneakers, and a swimsuit. Please plan to shower and change clothes several times a day due to temperatures and activity levels.

Camp Schedule:

• 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. - Individual Sessions
• 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. - 7-on-7 Flag Football
• 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. - Swimming, Films, Weight Room
• 11:00 p.m. - Lights Out

A more detailed schedule will be given out once we arrive at Camp.

We will need parents to volunteer to help carpool. Please be in front of the dorm between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning, August 1.
