Follow up from last meeting

Chicken and Biscuit Dinner with Bake Sale

The cost for the masons to do the dinner was $8.50. We felt that was too much to be able to charge to earn a decent profit.

Debbie and Coach Steve Boyce have been in contact with Mr. Mercuri, the high school culinary teacher. He is willing to have his students prepare a meal for our fundraising cause. Debbie will meet with him to finalize details as to what type of food, cost, and available time. (Post Meeting Note: Per Mr. Mercuri we may be looking to schedule the dinner for a time in early April. Mr. Mercuri will consult with the football players in his culinary class to get their level of commitment to the dinner and then will get back to Debbie with details.)

Banner Program

The estimate to replace the old silk banners came in at $38.00 a piece. Deb Shaw is going to work on getting a list of businesses together, so that we can figure how many banners we would need.


It was brought up that we may want to look into purchasing new jerseys for the team. It was also discussed to possibly sell jerseys as a fundraiser. Debbi Cooper was given contact information from a company that is potentially willing to donate to our cause. She will be sending a letter to see if possible we can get a donation for jerseys and banners.

Golf Tournament

Tentatively set for September 23, 2012. That was the first available date that the Tyoga Country Club had open. It will be a 10:00 am shotgun start. Cost includes 18 holes and cart. We will be providing food. We also plan to have hole sponsors. (Post Meeting Note: The tournament date has been confirmed for September 23, 2012. There can be a total of 30 teams. The Country Club will add the tournament to their list of tournaments that advertise to their members and others who may frequent the club. Debbie reached out to Mr. Rendos to see if a student may be interested in creating a brochure for the golf tournament as part of a Senior Project. The guidance department is looking into this and Mr. Rendos will get back with Debbie. If no student is interested in doing the brochure please let us know if anyone is aware of who made the prior brochures.)

Alumi Mixer

This idea has been tabled at this time until a Homecoming date has been confirmed.

Game Highlights on Channel 13

Coach Boyce has found a student whom is interested in filming the games to replay on TV. Lance will be checking into times for these to be replayed.

Laurel Festival Parking

We have been promised the Citizens and Northern Lots for parking cars for Laurel Festival.

Car Wash

Debbie will be checking into available dates to hold the car wash. We will also do a bake sale on site. It was decided to ask for a donation rather than a set price. (Post Meeting Note: The Car Wash has been confirmed for June 2nd from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm at Advance Auto Parts. Advance Auto will again provide all necessary materials needed for the car wash.)

New Items

Gridders Scholarship

It was decided that the students should submit an essay to apply for the scholarship. These will need to be turned in by May 9, 2012. Debbie will have this information posted on the website.

Checking Account

The checking account was turned over to a business account to avoid a monthly statement charge.

Calendar Winnings

There have been 13 winners for the calendar lottery, with a total payout of $330.00.


  • Lance got pricing from the Wellsboro Fireman's Annex for the banquet. Cost for weekend is $350.00 + $100.00 deposit and weekday is $200.00 + $50.00 deposit.
  • Senior Gifts

Kickoff Picnic

It was discussed to have a Kickoff picnic the Sunday afternoon prior to camp. Lance will be checking into the possibility of a pig roast.
