The Loyalsock Lancers faced the Towanda Black Knights last night in Towanda for the District 4 Class AA Championship. Loyalsock was able to keep Towanda's "Big Three" in check while forcing 5 turnovers to come away with the 28-7 win.

The 2007 Senior Class was honored today at the 17th annual Gridders Club Banquet. These nine young men spent the last four years of their life dedicating everything they had to the game of football. Despite an early end to the season, these men deserve all the credit in the world for the sacrifices they made to the program.

The first round of playoffs got underway last night. Towanda kept its undefeated record intact with a win over Warrior Run. Loyalsock won its first postseason game this decade with a huge win Hughesville. Montoursville pulled out a close win over Mount Carmel.

District 4 Playoffs begin tonight, as many local teams throughout the area will either be playing tonight or Saturday night. Make sure to check back this weekend, as WellsboroFootball.com will be covering many of the local games.

The date for the 2007 Gridders Club Banquet has just been set. The event, which annually recognizes the graduating senior football players, will take place at the Wellsboro High School gym on Sunday, November 18th at 1:00 p.m. All team members are expected to go.
