Much like the week 3 matchup with Cowanesque Valley, Senior Running Back Thomas Johnston carried the Hornets to a 14-8 overtime victory over the Rams in Wyalusing. Wellsboro founded themselves trailing 8-0 late in the fourth quarter, but eventually woke up. Junior Quarterback Ben Shaw punched his way into the end zone with 39.2 seconds left and converted on the two-point attempt to tie the score at 8-8.
The Towanda Black Knights dealt Wellsboro their third loss by defeating Wellsboro, 30-6. Turnovers on fumbles cost the Middle School Hornets the game. The Towanda defense stifled the Hornet offense and turnovers gave them good field position to work with throughout the game. Tony Cooper scored the lone touchdown for the hornets on a long run.

After outgaining South Williamsport in the first half, the Hornets fell to the Mounties 20-6 in South Williamsport Friday night. Wellsboro received the opening kickoff and drove down the field on South Williamsport. The Hornets maintained possession of the football for most of the first quarter before turning the ball over. The Wellsboro defense would hold the Mounties and would get the ball back.

The Hornets had a rough afternoon on the grid iron as the lost to Athens, 44-7. Athens got off to a great start as Ray McDougan returned the opening kickoff 82 yards to put Athens ahead 7-0 only 15 seconds into the game. Athens then went to the air for their next two scores to go up 21-0 on Wellsboro at the end of the first half.
The Wellsboro Middle School Hornets played a solid, disciplined game against South Williamsport. The Hornets controlled the game from the first kickoff as Tony Cooper recovered his own short kick to get the ball. The ground game was going on the first drive, as Nick Tremper scored a touchdown. Brody Coolidge forced a fumble to put the Hornets back in business. The ground game continued to excel as Tremper scored his second touchdown of the quarter.
