Port Allegany team trims Green Hornets, 19-0.

Wellsboro High School dropped its second football decision of the season as against one victory at Wellsboro Saturday, bowing to Port Allegany, 19-0.

After a scoreless first half, the victors took a 6-0 lead when fullback Sterling Baker raced over from seven yards out. Quarterback Ray Turner's kick for the extra point failed.

Port Allegany boosted its lead to 13-0 in the final period on a 63 yard run by Baker and a conversion by Turner. With five seconds remaining in the game, Turner plunged over from two yards out, but missed the extra point kick.

Wellsboro was stopped in three drives by costly fumbles. Both lines played well until the last period when the home team seemed to weaken.
