Hornets Gain TCL Lead In Victory Over Canton.

Wellsboro's Green Hornets scored a victory over Canton in a league game played in Weilsboro Friday night. It gave the Hornets a 3-0 league record, they're 4-1 overall.

After a scoreless first quarter, Canton's only touchdown came on a 10 yard pass from Steve Riggs to Karl Morgan The extra point attempt failed.

Weilsboro dominated the game after that. The Hornets tied the score late in the second period when Kevin Spink ran in from the one-yard line following a 95 yard drive. Tom Young's extra point kick was good.

The Hornets wasted no time getting on the scoreboard again when Spink found Jim Carson open near the 5-yard line and completed a 20 yard touchdown pass. The kick failed.

With 2:46 left in the game, Wellsboro added a final touchdown as Linford Jones drove in from one yard out. The kick failed, leaving the Hornets with a 19-6 victory.
