Big Green's Day, Indians Downed 32-8.
Wellsboro won its Homecoming game last Saturday 32-8 when both the offense and defense got together to stop the tough Cowanesque Valley Indians.
The win raises Wellsboro's overall record to 5-2. Cowanesque Valley slipped to 2-5.
The mid-30-degree temperature gave ball carriers on both teams a problem, as Cowanesque Valley fumbled 6 times and the Hornets four.
Cowanesque Valley fumbled on the second play after receiving the kickoff and again during the first series the second time they had possession. Wellsboro scored after the first fumble, but then Jones fumbled for Wellsboro after a Cowanesque back dropped the ball the second time.
Wellsboro's Linford Jones and Tom Young led the ground attack against the Indians. With Jones churning out yardage, Young scored twice and Pat Hewitt charged over from one-yard line twice to pay dirt.
For the Hornets' last touchdown, sub quarterback Jeff Coolidge connected on a 27 yard pass to Scott Boyce. Young kicked his second extra point of the day.
