Canton defeats Hornets 32-6 in league play.

In Northern Tier action Saturday the Canton Warriors romped over Wellsboro by a score of 32-6. Canton's defense intercepted five Hornet passes and recovered two fumbles to give the Warriors their first league win this season.
The opening kickoff resulted in a Canton touchdown when Brad Ward picked up a fumble and sprinted 25 yards to paydirt. Another Wellsboro fumble gave the Warriors a 66 yard gain to put them deep in Hornet territory. Boot ran the remaining nine yards.
There was no change in score until late in the second quarter. A 47 yard pass from Wright to Sechrist was just the beginning of an 88 yard match downfield to widen Canton's lead by 19 points.
A three yard run by Ward in the third period came after Warrior Steve Scott picked off a Hornet pass.
Canton's last touchdown of the game was a 24 yard interception return by Ward in the fourth quarter. With 27 seconds showing on the clock, sophomore quarterback Tim Cisco completed a six yard pass to Tim Smith to make the final score Canton 32, Wellsboro 6.
The Hornet's next game is Saturday, October 11, against Wyalusing. This is also their Homecoming game, so come out and support your team.
