The North Penn Panther football team scored in every quarter en route to a 41-0 thumping of Wellsboro High School Saturday afternoon in Blossburg.

The win was the Panthers' fourth in a row. In five home games this season, North Penn did not give up a single point.

The 5-2 Panthers combined a swarming defense with a solid ground attack from Kevin and David Owens to completely dominate the contest. The North Penn defense held the Hornets to 97 yards total offense and only nine first downs.

The Owens brothers held up the offensive end, each rushing for over 100 yards. Dave ended the afternoon with 113 yards on 16 carries, while Kevin added 101 yards on 22 totes. Quarterback Mike Wilson also had a good day, hitting on 10 of 16 passes for 91 yards and one touchdown.

Wilson opened the scoring when he ran in from four yards out in the first quarter. Doug O'Connors' extra point boot put North Penn out in front 7-0.

A 13 yard touchdown strike from Wilson to Kevin Owens in the second period increased the North Penn lead to 13-0, which is how the half ended.

A 15 point third stanza put the game away for the Panthers. Early in the period, Dave Owens scored on a nine yarder and later brother Kevin bulled in from three yards out. A two-point conversion and O'Connors' extra point put the Panthers comfortably ahead, 28-0, entering the fourth period.

In the final stanza, Dave Owens and Evan Chrzan each added one yard touchdown runs to complete the day's scoring.

The loss dropped the Hornets to 1-6.
