Line Mountain amassed 388 yards in total offense Friday night en route to a 32-0 football win over Wellsboro at Shikellamy High School in Sunbury. The loss eliminated the 5-6 Hornets from PIAA District 4 AA playoff action.
Dave Zerbe accounted for three Line Mountain touchdowns on runs of 39 and six yards and a 44 yard jaunt with an interception. He finished the night with 136 yards on 23 carries.
Line Mountain's defense also played well, allowing Wellsboro only 156 yards in total offense, 107 on the ground and 49 via the air route.
The Hornets' biggest offensive weapon was Matt Lundgren, who rushed for 83 yards on 10 carries.
Zerbe's six yard run put Line Mountain up 7-0 in the first period.
Darren Foulds scored on a one yard run, and Zerbe added a 39 yard touchdown in the second quarter to put Line Mountain on top 19-0 at halftime.
Quarterback Bob Williard hit Corey Keim with a six yard touchdown pass early in the final stanza, Zerbe's 44 yard interception return closed out the scoring.
Line Mountain now plays Athens for the District 4 Class AA title.
