Wellsboro falls to Canton, 35-6.

The Wellsboro Hornet football team fell to their fourth consecutive defeat of the season by dropping a 35-6 game versus the Canton Warriors at Canton Saturday. Canton improved to 4-0 on the year, Wellsboro dropped to 0-4.

The hosts jumped out to a 21-0 halftime edge on scores by Stacy Brackman, Scott May and Rusty Morgan. Brackman's first period touchdown came off an 18 yard interception return.

May and Morgan's scores both came in the second stanza. May scored on a one yard plunge, Morgan on a five yard run. Anders Akerberg booted all three extra points.

The Warriors stretched their edge to 35-0 as Ryan Larkum and Rob Wesneski scored on runs of six and seven yards respectively. Larkum's touchdown came in the third quarter, Wesneski's in the fourth.

Jeff Zuchowski's 14 yard touchdown run with time running out got Wellsboro on the scoreboard.

Canton rushed for 233 yards on 45 carries. The Hornet offense was limited to a total of 125 yards, 49 on the ground and 76 through the air. Wellsboro hosts Troy Friday, October 2, in their Homecoming contest. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
