Kennedy leads Hornets over North Penn, 26-0.

Sophomore Jason Kennedy rushed for 179 yards and a pair of third period touchdowns to lead Wellsboro to a 26-0 football win over North Penn at Blossburg Saturday. It was the Hornets' first win of the year after seven straight losses. North Penn's record drops to 2-6.
Wellsboro got on the score board early in the opening period when defensive lineman Chad Worden scooped up a Panther fumble and rumbled 22 yards for a touchdown on the second play from scrimmage. Kennedy's extra point boot put the Hornets on top, 7-0.
The score remained 7-0 until the third quarter when Kennedy scored on runs of 39 and 24 yards, to give Wellsboro a 19-0 edge entering the final quarter.
Seth Yost's six yard touchdown run and Sean Callahan's point after kick made the final 26-0. Wellsboro ground out 323 rushing yards on 52 carries. Kennedy's 179 yards came on 24 carries.
Quarterback Jeff Zuchowski added 56 yards on seven carries. Jim Dempsey finished with 47 yards on nine totes.
Tony Shattuck topped Panther ground gainers with 52 yards on 17 tries.
Wellsboro's next game is this Friday night, October 30, at home versus the Towanda Black Knights. North Penn hosts Montgomery on Saturday afternoon, October 31.
