The Wellsboro Hornet football team improved to 2-0 on the season by downing Athens 31-13 Friday night at Wellsboro. The win was the Hornets' Northern Tier League opener. Athens fell to 0-2.
Hornet defense keys big win over Troy.
The Wellsboro Hornet football team got back in the Northern Tier League race Friday night by shutting out the visiting Troy Trojans 17-0. The win improves Wellsboro's record to 2-1 in NTL play, 3-1 overall.
Hornets downed at Canton, 14-6.
Tony Shattuck scored a pair of touchdowns, one on offense and one on defense, to lead the Canton Warriors to a key 14-6 Northern Tier League football win over visiting Wellsboro on Saturday.

The Bald Eagle Nittany football team scored on their first possession of the game, then made the points stand up, as Wellsboro fell to the hosts 7-0 at Mill Hall Saturday.

The Wellsboro Defense completely stymied Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Saturday as the Hornets chalked up a 20-0 football win at Central Columbia High School.
Kennedy smashes records in 44-0 win Monday.
Although no accurate records were available at press time, Jason Kennedy's rushing yards Monday night are believed to be a Twin Tiers record.
6-3 Hornets top Sayre, 34-6.
The Wellsboro Hornet football team led by only one point, 7-6, at halftime Friday night at Sayre. Some good second half defense, combined with a 27 point offensive outburst, carried Wellsboro to a 34 6 Northern Tier League win. With the victory, the Hornets improve to 6 3 overall, 3-2 in the NTL.
Wellsboro downs Wyalusing; North Penn, Districts next.
The Wellsboro Hornet football team turned in a fine defensive effort Friday night en route to a 14-0 Northern Tier League win over Wyalusing at Wyalusing.
Hornets top North Penn, face Montoursville.
The Wellsboro Hornet football team wrapped up their regular season with a 42-0 non-league win over North Penn Saturday at Blossburg. The Hornets ended with an 8-3 overall record, 4-2 in Northern Tier League action.
Montoursville downs 8-4 Wellsboro, 40-14.
The Montoursville Warriors unleashed a powerful ground game and as a result came away with a 40-14 PIAA District 4 football playoff win over Wellsboro Friday night at Montoursville.
