The Bucktail Bucks downed Wellsboro 21-0 Friday night in non-league football game played at Renovo.
Jeff Francis scored all three Buck touchdowns on runs of five, 15, and five yards. He finished the evening with 148 rushing yards on 28 carries.
The hosts ran up 314 yards of total offense, 278 on the ground and 36 through the air. Wellsboro was held to 46 yards of offense, all of it on the ground.
The Hornets stayed close, going into the locker room at halftime tied at 0-0. Francis' five yard touchdown run and Craig Earner's extra point kick put Bucktail on top 7-0 after three quarters.
Francis added his final two touchdowns in the fourth stanza and capped off his evening with a pass reception from Buck quarterback Butch Francis for a two point conversion following his third scoring run.
Both teams were 3-4 entering the game. Wellsboro hosts Canton this Friday night, October. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
