The Wellsboro Hornet football team downed Sayre 14-6 Friday night at Wellsboro to end their 1992 season on a positive note.
The Hornets finished 2-4 in Northern Tier League action and 4-7 overall.
After a scoreless first half, Chris Morral got Wellsboro on the scoreboard with a five yard touchdown run and a two-point conversion run in the third period.
In the fourth quarter, the Hornets' Tim Smith intercepted a Sayre pass and returned it 25 yards for Wellsboro's second touchdown and a 14-0 lead.
The Redskins rallied late in the final stanza to score on a one yard run. The two-point conversion pass failed and the game ended 14-6.
Morral rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown for Weilsboro.
Sayre outgained Wellsboro 218 total yards to 154, but the Redskins were guilty of six turnovers, three interceptions and three lost fumbles. They finished the year 0-6 in NTL play and 0-10 overall.
