Fassett leads Wyalusing over Hornets, 27-12.

Wyalusing's Brad Fassett rushed for 118 yards, scored two touchdowns and kicked three extra points to lead the Rams to a 27-12 Northern Tier League football win over Wellsboro, Friday night in Wellsboro. The loss drops the Hornets to 0-3 on the year, Wyalusing is 1-2.
Adam Wells opened the scoring for Wyalusing with a six yard touchdown jaunt early in the first quarter. Fassett's extra point boot put the Rams up 7-0.
The hosts rallied to cut the deficit to one, 7-6, when the Hornets' Bryan Signer recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown.
Late in the opening stanza, Fassett broke loose on a 73 yard touchdown run and his extra point put the Rams on top 14-6.
The only scoring in the second period came on a 45 yard touchdown pass from Wyalusing quarterback Jim McDonald to Brian Johns. The extra point kick failed and the Rams led 20-6 at intermission.
Following a scoreless third period, the teams traded touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Wellsboro's Chris Morral ran in from four yards out and Fassett added his second touchdown on a five yard burst.
Morral was Wellsboro's leading ground gainer, running fo r47 yards on 13 carries. Neil Bogaczyk rushed for 39 yards on seven totes.
Hornet quarterback Jon Cox completed eight of 14 passes for 80 yards. He was intercepted once.
Wellsboro hosts North Penn on Friday night, September 25 in a non-leaguer for both teams.
