Wyalusing tops Hornets in District 4 playoffs.

The Wyalusing Rams held the Wellsboro offense to only five first downs en route to a 21-0 PIAA Class AA District 4 football playoff win at Wyalusing Friday night.
Wyalusing was in complete control of the game, outgaining the Hornets 331 to 95 in total offense. The Rams ran 69 plays from scrimmage, Wellsboro managed only 29.
The win was especially sweet for Wyalusing as Wellsboro had defeated them earlier in the season, 10-0 at Wyalusing on October 29.
After a scoreless first quarter, Wyalusing scored on an 11 yard pass from Trevor Woodruff to Dave Jennings in the second period. The two-point conversion try failed, and the Rams took a 6-0 lead into the half.
The Wyalusing lead stretched to 14-0 in the third stanza on a two yard touchdown run by Woodruff. He also ran the successful two-point conversion.
Adam Wells, who finished the game with 93 yards on 13 carries, scored on a six yard run in the fourth quarter to end the scoring Minnier's extra point put the final at 21-0.
Chris Morral was Wellsboro's leading rusher, gaining 42 yards on 12 attempts. Quarterback Chad Watters completed four of 12 passes for 37 yards.
The Hornets finished their 1993 season 6-6.
