The Hornets traveled to Muncy on September 24 and quickly fell behind 24-0 in the first half.
Muncy running backs rushed for 185 yards and and their quarterback passed for 115 yards, most coming in the first half.
The Hornets scored a touchdown in the third quarter but were otherwise thwarted by the rugged Muncy defense.
The Muncy team started the st'nring off in the first quarter 23 yard field goal at the 5:06 mark as the Hornets defense stiffened and allowed only the one drive.
In the second quarter, Muncy quarterback Andrew Bartlow passed for a 10 yard touchdown to Ben Fish at the 3:50 mark of the second quarter.
One minute and nine seconds later the Muncy team scored again on a 12 yard run by Aaron Messner for Muncy's second touchdown.
Two minutes and two seconds later Bill Hanes bulled in from one yard out to close out Muncy's scoring.
While the Hornets defense tightened in the second half, the Hornets got on the scoreboard with 1:35 remaining in the third quarter as quarterback Pat Coolidge completed a 10 yard touchdown pass to Shawn Tom for the Hornets' only score of the game.
Jeremy Walrath led Wellsboro with 57 yards rushing on six carries. Muncy was led in rushing by Junior running back Aaron Messner's 169 yards rushing.
Bartlow completed six of his pass attempts for 115 yards and was intercept once. The interception was at the hands of the Hornets' defensive back Ed Baxter.
Baxter had one solo tackle, one assisted tackle, and broke up a pass in addition to his interception.
