The Hornets traveled to Lewisburg on Friday, September 18 to face off on the field with the Green Dragons in another night of high school football action.

Wellsboro suffered the 0-54 shutout, after rushing for only 45 yards on 26 attempts, to Lewisburgy's 253 yards with 47 attempts. Lewisburg's Nathaniel Brown started the night off with a one yard run into the end zone with 8:26 showing on the clock to lead 7-0.

Cody Raup snagged a 16 yard interception to return the ball for Lewisburg and gain 13-0 over the Hornets with 7:38 left in the first quarter.

The Green Dragons' Jay Mathias took a 13 yard jaunt down field with just under four minutes left, followed by a 37 yard interception to take into the end zone, leading 27-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Brown returned before the halftime buzzer, garnering two more touchdowns from three and 39 yards out, respectively, as Lewisburg held a 41-0 score over Wellsboro at the half.

Returning in the third quarter, Spencer Kissell added to the Green Dragons' score, taking a 28 yard run to score, while Ryan Flannery closed out the night for Lewisburg with a six yard pass from Zachary Rager to score with 10:23 left in the final quarter.

Wellsboro's Ben Shaw garnered 32 yards passing on 12 attempts and three completions, while Nick Saniga went one of seven for one yard. For Lewisburg, Rager completed three of five attempts for 48 yards and Mathias, two completions for 23 yards.

Rushing, Richie Straniere secured 24 yards on five attempts to average 4.8 yards, while Shaw went 13 yards on eight attempts. For the Green Dragons Brown led the team with five attempts securing 64 yards rushing, while Kissell and Moscarello posted 42 and 46 yards for the night.

The Hornets will travel to Wyalusing this Friday, September 25. Game time set for 7:00 p.m.
