Troy's Beau Parker led the Trojans to the scoreboard with an 18 yard run into the end zone, following four minutes later with a 37 yard touchdown to lead the Hornets 13-0 in the first quarter.
The Trojans continued the pressure heading to the conclusion of the first half as they returned the ball five consecutive times to shut down Wellsboro's defense 47-0, including an interception returned for a touchdown.
Senior Richie Straniere put the Hornets on the board 6-47, after a five yard run with 4:40 left on the clock in the final quarter of the game. Freshman Ben Shaw also connected on a 26 yard pass to teammate Nathan Bair with just over a minute left in play. Wellsboro suffered the loss, 14-47.
The Trojans rushed a total of 372 yards compared to Wellsboro's 90.
Wellsboro's Ryan Moss rushed the ball on six attempts for 64 yards, along with sophomore Thomas Johnston, five for 14 yards gained. Johnston also posted 12 tackles for the Hornets.
Wellsboro will now to travel to Lewisburg on Friday, September 18 for another night of action. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
