Rams take down Wellsboro Hornets, 37-6.

After a season opening 21-7 victory for the Hornets, who played host to Cowanesque Valley, Wellsboro has fallen to a 1-3 record, suffering three consecutive losses. The latest, an NTL 6-37 loss on Friday, September 25, at Wyalusing facing off with the Rams.
The Rams now post a 3-1 record overall.
Wellsboro's Thomas Johnston, a sophomore linebacker, recorded 23 tackles taking down the Rams on defense. These statistics place him in the Hornets' varsity record books*, only second behind both Derek Harsch and Erick Crawford's previous first place record of 24 tackles each, in a single game.
Wellsboro's Ethan Callahan, a junior, recorded the only score for the Hornets after taking a five yard pass from freshman Ben Shaw into the end zone in the second quarter.
Wyalusing took an early lead in the first quarter, 8-0, after both the touchdown and two-point conversion.
After a five yard run and two passes connecting with their receivers, Wyalusing added to their lead 22-6 at the conclusion of the first half.
The Rams secured the win 37-6 in the fourth with a 10 yard run in between the goal posts.
Wellsboro posted seven first downs on the night vs. Wyalusing's 19. The Hornets also recorded 23 yards rushing on 13 attempts, and 113 yards passing, while Wyalusing garnered 276 yards on 53 attempts rushing and 79 yards, respectively.
Recording those 113 yards passing was Shaw, who also garnered five yards rushing, along with Ryan Moss with 19 yards.
On defense, Aaron Moss garnered 15 tackles for the Hornets and senior Caleb Getty added in nine.
