Late gaffe by Bloomsburg propels Lewisburg to district semis.

Lewisburg held off Bloomsburg 21-20 to host Towanda in the second round of district play.

The Dragons led after the first quarter thanks to a Nick Kifolo 10 yard run. Nate Brown's three yard run in the second gave Lewisburg a 13-0 lead.

Michael Noll got Bloomsburg on the board with a 10 yard run to make it 13-7.

In the second quarter Bloomsburg went up on a two yard Blake Rankin run. Lewisburg retook the lead on a 31 yard run by Brown.

Then, with just over a minute to go, John Klingerman hit Rankin for a six yard score. Bloomsburg went for two, though, and the Dragons stopped the run, giving them the win.

Brown led Lewisburg with 102 yards on the ground and two scores while Merle Moscarello had 68 yards rushing. Cam Cassels went 6-for-10 behind center for 77 yards with Ryan Lopes his top receiver Ryan Lopes, who had three catches for 18 yards.

Rankin had 158 yards and a score on the ground in a losing effort while Michael Noll had 100 yards.
