Bio
Coach Egly is in his second year of coaching football for the Hornets and is in his first year coaching at the Middle School. Coach Egly is a recent graduate of Lehigh University and just moved to Wellsboro to accept his first job with Citizens and Northern Bank.
Coach Egly played high school sports at Hughesville High School where he earned 10 varsity letters and All-Conference honors 3 years in a row playing football, basketball, and baseball. Coach Egly was a starting linebacker for 3 years and starting halfback both his junior and senior years rushing for over a 1,000 yards each year. Coach Egly received several awards and honors including being selected as a Double A First Team All-State Running Back and Super 16 football player of the year in 2005.
While recruited by many colleges to play football Coach Egly choose to play baseball at Lehigh due to the physical toll 4 more years of football would take. Coach Egly was only able to play two years of baseball due to recurring injuries.
Coach Egly currently resides in Wellsboro and hopes to continue his coaching career as a Green Hornet.
