Bio
Coach Hurlbert is in his first year as an Assistant Varsity coach, and has been coaching in the Wellsboro Football Program for three years. Coach Hurlbert has worked with the Small Fry Program (5th-6th grade) as a Defensive Coordinator and Wide Receiver Coach for the past three years and is excited about bringing pride and a winning attitude back to the programs.
After finishing his football career and graduating from Wellsboro High School in 2000, Coach Hurlbert attended Penn State University where he was involved in playing intramural football and coaching the Wellsboro Small Fry Teams. After graduating from Penn State University with a degree in Civil Engineering, Coach Hurlbert moved to Florida for three years before returning to his Alma Mater to help rebuild a program the Hornets and community have been looking for.
Coach Hurlbert lives in the Wellsboro area and is an active Small Fry Board member and a youth mentor. Additionally, he has taken an active interest in the community and as an engineer for Larson Design Group, has provided design services for the Soldiers and Sailors Emergency Room Expansion and various projects, including a local non-kill animal shelter.
