The Hornets wrapped up the 2010 Pre-Season as they scrimmaged the Muncy Indians. The Hornets started out slow, but picked up where they left off towards the end of the scrimmage. The team will assume normal practice schedules this week as they begin preparing for the Canton Warriors on September 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The Hornets began their 2010 football campaign as they scrimmaged the Warrior Run Defenders. The Hornets held the Defenders in check during the first defensive series and started out strong offensively. Sophomore Quarterback Ben Shaw connected with Junior Running Back Thomas Johnston on the first series for a touchdown and followed up on the second series with a deep pass to Senior Receiver Ethan Callahan.
The Hornets open summer camp this morning as they start preparing for the 2010 season. The team will have two weeks of practice and scrimmages against Warrior Run on August 21 at 11:00 a.m. and Muncy on August 28 at 10:00 a.m. before opening the season against the Canton Warriors on September 3. Coach Brandon Falk will be holding a mandatory parents' meeting on Thursday, August 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the old Wellsboro High School gym. All athletes planning on playing during the 2010 season all required to attend the meeting.
The Wellsboro Varsity Football coaching staff will be holding a youth football camp at the High School on August 2-5 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The camp is open to all individuals in grades 3-12.

The Wellsboro Football team and head coach Brandon Falk will be holding a KanJam Tournament fundraiser on Saturday, July 24 at the High School. The tournament starts at 10:00 a.m. Cost for the High School division is $25.00 and $40.00 for the Open Division. Register today to help support the team!
The 2010 District 4 North-South All-Star game took place last night at South Williamsport's Rodney K. Morgans Stadium. After it was all said and done, the South came our victorious, beating the North squad, 28-12. Read the entire story from the Williamsport Sun Gazette.

The Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club held their annual banquet June 1 in the Wellsboro High School Gym. The banquet recognizes not only senior athletes and their accomplishments, but accomplishments by all athletes throughout the entire school year. Throughout the course of the night, the Booster Club and Athletic Director Sherri Prough recognized teams, coaches, captains, coaches' award recipients, and outstanding player award recipients from every sport.
The Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club will hold their annual banquet on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Wellsboro Gym to recognize the 2009-2010 athletic teams and Senior athletes. All athletes, coaches, and parents are invited to attend.
